José Theodore, NHL Goalie

José (Jo-say) Theodore (Thee-uh-dore) was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1994 and played with them until March of 2006, winning the Hart and Vezina Trophies in 2002. He spent two and a half seasons with the Colorado Avalanche. José signed with the Washington Capitals in July 2008 where he played the next two seasons. He was awarded the Masterton Trophy in 2010. He played the 2010-11 season with the Minnesota Wild, and then played 2 seasons with the Florida Panthers.

Djurgarden's Website and José Photos

As I've said numerous times, José played in Sweden for Djurgarden during the 2004/05 lockout season. A fellow José fan on tumblr today posted a photo from his time there that I'd never seen. Well, I'd seen the photo, but not the color version of it. I'd only seen the black and white version. So I'll post it here along with the others from the same time. I love this new one, because it shows his eyes so beautifully.

And I didn't realize Marty Turco played with him also. José played 17 games for Djurgarden, and Marty only played 6.

You might check out the gallery at that site, because there are quite a few mighty fine-lookin' hockey players. ;o)

I think Mats Hogberg should be the official NHL photographer, because he can bring out the best in these players. We need these shots...not the normal NHL headshots we see. ;o)

This 'n' That

Just wanted to touch base with everyboday. I'm still here, and I'm still poring over the internet everday to make sure there's nothing new about our guy. There's just not much out there right now.

Hopefully he's chillaxin' up in Montreal, takin' it easy, spending time with his family and golfing a LOT! ;o)

I will be sure to bring you any new stuff that I run across. If I miss something, shoot me a message at willow1171@gmail.com.

I would still like to post all those videos of him through the years from the NHL website (the post-game interviews.) But I got frustrated with how the videos took up so much space on the page, messing up my archive list. I might just post the links, but those aren't near as much fun. But I think I will...maybe tonight. I'll just make a single post with links of all the remaining ones. Just so the info is there for people to find easily. Or maybe later today when I should be working...

Video from José's time in Sweden

As we all know, José played 17 games for Djurgarden of the SEL during the NHL's lockout season of 2004-05. Thanks to Berni for reminding me of this gem of an interview (along with some game footage.) You'll note this is the time when he was wearing braces...you can tell by how he's holding his mouth. (Just an aside. ;o)
