José Theodore, NHL Goalie

José (Jo-say) Theodore (Thee-uh-dore) was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1994 and played with them until March of 2006, winning the Hart and Vezina Trophies in 2002. He spent two and a half seasons with the Colorado Avalanche. José signed with the Washington Capitals in July 2008 where he played the next two seasons. He was awarded the Masterton Trophy in 2010. He played the 2010-11 season with the Minnesota Wild, and then played 2 seasons with the Florida Panthers.

1/2/12 Update on José's Injury

A "little tender" sounds MUCH better than what I feared.

From Harvey Fialkov of the Sun Sentinel:

"Dineen confirmed that there are no immediate plans for surgery for Theodore because first the swelling must go down to determine the nature of the injury. The worst-case scenario would be a torn ACL with the best probably being a strained MCL, which doesn’t require surgery."

If they're talking about whether he can make a road trip that's coming up this week, it sounds like he'll be back soon. Good news!
