RALEIGH, N.C. -- Florida goaltender Jose Theodore was injured on the first shot of the Panthers' game against Carolina and had to be helped from the ice.
Theodore made a right-pad on Jussi Jokinen's slap shot 2:22 into the game, but immediately fell forward in obvious pain. He was helped from the ice and was unable to put any weight on his right knee and leg.
He was replaced by Scott Clemmensen, who gave up three goals on the first nine shots he faced as Carolina jumped to a 3-0 lead.
Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov left the game early in the second period. He lost an edge skating in his own zone and slid backwards into the boards. He left the ice holding his right wrist.
