José (Jo-say) Theodore (Thee-uh-dore) was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1994 and played with them until March of 2006, winning the Hart and Vezina Trophies in 2002. He spent two and a half seasons with the Colorado Avalanche. José signed with the Washington Capitals in July 2008 where he played the next two seasons. He was awarded the Masterton Trophy in 2010. He played the 2010-11 season with the Minnesota Wild, and then played 2 seasons with the Florida Panthers.
A happy Caps fan here -- glad Theo will be in the NHL this season, and it will make watching the Wild and the Western conference a lot more interesting. Theo was always very classy and professional in DC, and his comments about practicing in Houston instead of traveling to Finland sounded very consistent with his work ethic.
I agree, this interview is consistent with how he always seems in interviews. Very thoughtful and respectful of teammates (or future teammates) and the organizations he's with. He always seems intent on trying to play his best and whatever will happen will happen. He has a great attitude.
