José Theodore and Stephanie Cloutier Through the Years

I know a lot of people land on this blog searching for José and Stephanie photos. So I thought I'd just make an entry of as many of my favorites as I can find.

I made a more recent post in June of 2016 with newer photos also.

But before I post the photos, while in Minnesota he gave an interview and said this:

How did I know Stephanie was the one? I knew right away. She gave me a chance for a second date, which was good. I felt the connection right away. When you meet someone and you feel after the first or second date like you’ve known them 10 years, it’s almost weird. It was almost scary. It seemed like I knew her since I was a kid.

I'll start with the most recent I have of the two of them together. This was from July 2012 at Stephanie's sister's wedding. They were scanned from a magazine, so the quality isn't the best.

.

Then from October 2011 at a Panthers Gala.

This was from the 2010 NHL Awards.

And the rest of these are from when he played for Montreal. I'm not sure on some of the dates, so they aren't necessarily in order.

I do know this was a magazine article talking about when they were expecting Romi, so in 2005.

And she was also expecting Romi here.

The rest I'm not sure of the date unless I note it. These two were probably sometime in 2005, but I'm not sure, just judging by his hair and earrings. But I don't think Romi had been born yet.

I again think she was pregnant with Romi here (Romi was born in March 2006.)

This was from their first "official, out-in-public" date in 1998, at the opening of Planet Hollywood.

Still no news

There still hasn't been any news about José possibly signing with a team.

I apologize for being so quiet over here. I still post photos on my tumblr everyday, I just can't find the time right now to post on both blogs. But I totally understand if my tumblr isn't your cup of tea. It's a totally different atmosphere over there. I also post at least one photo a day on the fan page I run for José on Facebook (called José Theodore, NHL Goalie.) So if you're on Facebook and want to like that page, feel free.

If there is any news I will definitely report it here as soon as I hear. And I will try to pop in with some photos from the past more often. I'm collecting as many photos as I can from places this summer (mostly in-game photos from past seasons), so I'm in the process of getting them more organized, etc. So it doesn't leave a lot of time to actually blog them. But this blog will continue, and I will post more things when I get a chance.

Thanks to those who still check in! I really appreciate it!

José at Club de Golf le Mirage

Last week fellow José fan, Joey, shared this photo from the Journal de Montreal.

The caption read: José Theodore with Vincent Damphousse and René-Charles, Céline Dion/René Angélil’s son.

This was at a golf tournament at Club de Golf le Mirage on Monday, July 22, 2013. It seems this Club is owned by Celine Dion and Rene Angelil and they have this event every year, and José usually attends.

So thanks to Joey for catching that for us. I think it's kind of fun how Rene-Charles has very famous parents and is used to celebrities being around, but he still wants his picture taken with the hockey players. :)

José is the kind of NHL player/athlete any fan could be proud of

Back in March 2012 the Panthers played the Canadiens, and I remember an article at that time talking about how Carey Price, goalie for the Habs, really appreciated how kind José had been to him through the years.

Today when I was looking for photos, I ran across these images. It seems the RDS broadcast of the game posted graphics of the quotes from the 2 goalies.

Here is a translation (although I can't vouch for complete accuracy, as I don't understand French.)

Carey Price: “Jose Theodore has always treated me well. We don’t see that very often with number one goaltenders. I’m very grateful towards him.”
Jose Theodore: “Younger, I saw how certain goaltenders that I admired treated me. I was disappointed. I told myself I would never compose myself in that fashion.”

No News

I hope that "no news is good news." But there has been no word about José since he became a free agent.

The Panthers signed Jacob Markstrom to a 2-year deal earlier this week, but the first year is a 2-way contract. That led some to believe they aren't quite ready to hand the #1 job to him yet, and might still want another goalie around. Will that be José? Your guess is as good as mine.

Scott Clemmensen is in the last year of his 2-year contract, and that's why there isn't a spot for José in Florida as things stand right now.

We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed that some NHL team realizes how much he still has to offer their team and signs him soon. He would be an exceptional veteran presence for any team. He is still skilled and talented and is a phenomenal teammate and wealth of experience and knowledge.

Wake up, NHL teams!!

José with Chuck Comeau on July 12, 2013

This photo was tweeted today.

"Yesterday evening Chuck spent by hanging out in Montreal with some of his friends including one of his best friends – José Theodore. You can check out a picture of them together with a couple of other friends (posted by Divine Kirezy)" (http://instagram.com/divinekirezy

Divine said: "Fun time with beautiful people. Don't know what's going on with our eyes tho!!! sorry Jose."

For those who don't know, Chuck is a member of the band, Simple Plan, and has been a good friend of José's for years.

Today is the start of Free Agency, but nothing yet about José

The NHL's free agency period began today a noon EST, but there has been nothing about José signing yet.

Dale stated last weekend that he likes José but they have two goalies under contract (Markstrom and Clemmensen), so they'd have to see what happened.

I will update when something finally happens.

Florida Panthers face decisions on Stephen Weiss, Jose Theodore

From the Miami Herald

Now that the draft is over and it is officially July, the Panthers have some work to do.
The free agency period doesn’t start until Friday, although free agents — which now includes center Stephen Weiss — are allowed to begin speaking with other teams Tuesday.

Florida had hoped to sign Weiss, the franchise’s all-time leader in games played, before it came to this, although him testing the market is of little surprise.

The Panthers also let goaltender Jose Theodore free despite him making it clear that he would have liked to stay in Florida.

And that still could happen, depending on whether the team feels secure going into the season with Scott Clemmensen backing up 23-year-old Jacob Markstrom.

Florida will make qualifying offers to a number of its restricted free agents, including Markstrom and Shawn Matthias. It’s not known whether the Panthers will offer contracts to Jack Skille and Peter Mueller. If not, they could return, although they will probably find offers elsewhere and move on.

The Panthers also could buy out a contract or two, but assistant general manager Mike Santos said Sunday that was unlikely. The Panthers, who bought out Matt Bradley’s small contract last summer, don’t like writing big checks to players not to play for them.

And since the Panthers are nowhere near the salary cap ceiling, they don’t need to buy out players to add contracts when free agency hits.
