Gameday, Panthers vs. Sabres, 7:30 EST

Here's a blurb about the depth the Panthers have in goal right now, from George Richards.

Starter Jose Theodore (3-1-0) will return to the cage Thursday against the Sabres and likely will start against the Islanders on Saturday. As the league MVP and top goalie in 2004 for the Canadiens, there is little doubt Theodore will be in net Monday in Montreal, and Florida then has three days of rest after that before playing the Senators.

If the Panthers are going to give Markstrom a second start, it could come against the struggling Senators. And if they want to see him again, they might want to do so soon. Scott Clemmensen is recovering from minor knee surgery and could be back to work in the coming weeks.

Once Clemmensen is cleared, Markstrom is expected to be sent to Florida’s AHL affiliate in San Antonio, where he was scheduled to start the season. Having Theodore, Clemmensen and Markstrom as options isn’t a bad place to be right now.
