From Russo's twitter:
Jose Theodore will start tomorrow's game vs. Pittsburgh. Lots of concern about whether Backstrom can start Sunday at home; may recall goalie.
By the way, here are a few bits from Glen Andresen's "Five Takeaways" from last night's game.
"From goaltender José Theodore through the six defensemen and 12 forwards, this was an effort to be proud of, win or lose."
"It was tough to pick a star of this game for the Wild. Theodore was brilliant in winning his third straight start." (He ended up picking Brodziak though.)
And last night in his in-game commentary, Mr. Andresen mentioned "Theo has some dreamy good looks."
Seriously, I dig Glen, and I'd like to meet that guy. He has been a joy this season. ;o)

I will add more photos from the New Jersey game tonight when I'm at home. The photographer in Jersey that night loved José...took bunches of photos!
José (Jo-say) Theodore (Thee-uh-dore) was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1994 and played with them until March of 2006, winning the Hart and Vezina Trophies in 2002. He spent two and a half seasons with the Colorado Avalanche. José signed with the Washington Capitals in July 2008 where he played the next two seasons. He was awarded the Masterton Trophy in 2010. He played the 2010-11 season with the Minnesota Wild, and then played 2 seasons with the Florida Panthers.

Per Russo, Theo's been a Penguin killer. "Theodore is 18-4-3 with a 2.41 GAA, a .914 SV% and one shutout in 25 starts lifetime against the Pens." With Sidney Crosby out of the lineup, I'm liking the Wild's chances.
ReplyDeleteTrue! Russo was singing his praises today for sure. I'm going to post that right now...
