Gameday, Panthers vs. Hurricanes, W (2-0)

It's official now that the teams have taken the ice for warm-ups. Theodore vs. Ward.

The game is scoreless after one period. The Panthers have been pushing hard, and have 14 shots on Ward, but none got through. It has to be frustrating for them...it is to watch. José had a relatively quiet period, stopping all 5 shots he faced. And Jovo is having the best game I've seen from him in a long time. He had 2 big blocked shots in there that probably saved goals.

The Panthers got the much-needed first goal in the 2nd and lead 1-0 at the end of the period. José got much busier as Carolina poured it on. He saved all 19 shots he faced in the 2nd.

José ended up with his 3rd shutout of the season (he saved all 34 shots faced.) He really stood on his head. Let's hope the Panthers can come through with a few more goals in the future (the 2nd tonight was an empty net near the end of the game.)

José was named 1st star!!
