Gameday, Panthers vs. Sabres, W (3-2 in Shootout)

José will be the starter when the Panthers go for their 4th win in a row tonight with the Sabres in town. This would be the first 4-game winning streak this season (I forget when the last 4-game streak was for the Panthers, but it's been a long time.)

********************************************

After one period the Panthers lead 2-1. It's been a bit of a crazy period. Unfortunately that Sabres goal was scored on their first shot on goal. I never like that feeling...one shot, one goal. Weiss lost his man on a bit of of a rush, and he got it behind José. But he shut the door after that and came up with some beautiful saves. He saved 9 of 10 in the period.

The Panthers didn't have a shot on goal in at least the first 15 minutes, then they had 2 goals on 2 shots, within 38 seconds of each other. Going out on a high note in that period. Let's hope they carry it into the second.

After 2 periods the game is tied at 2. The Sabres tied it up on a power play goal in that period.José was totally screened on the shot and never saw it. He saved 11 of 12 shots in that period.

What an exciting finish!! The Panthers and Sabres went all the way to a shootout, where José was excellent. In 7 rounds only one shot got past him!! He was also selected 2nd star of the game. This is the first time since 2008 that the Panthers have won 4 games in a row!! God bless these guys!! José ended up saving 24 of 26 shots.

They are now 5 points up on Washington also! Next game is Tuesday in Philly.
